Just like the 2022 World Cup, the Premier League has adopted a new stoppage time policy to combat time wasting.

According to the EPL,

its in a bid to ensure a more accurate calculation of additional time, in line with the most recent IFAB [International Football Association Board] guidance.

So its no coincidence to see 10 minutes added on in the first half of a match 😂😂

While we that partake in Sport Betting are pleased with the rule, some coaches and football players have both criticised it.

Goodbye to time-wasting

Man City boss Pep Guardiola has complained the league is treating his players like numbers.

While footballers are also angry the new rule will increase their workload (which is ironic cause footballers get paid a lot of money than the average overworked doctors that save lives, but feel free to criticize my opinion in the comment section)

More on the rule by the EPL:

The rule changes look at increasing the amount of time the ball is in play by looking at the exact time lost when certain game events [goals and celebrations, substitutions, injuries, red cards, etc.] occur rather than a nominal amount of time [usually 30 seconds] added on.

This will effectively make football matches longer and entertaining.

MY OPINION

I am overjoyed that the Premier League has implemented this new regulation.

I shell out a lot of money each month for cable in order to watch the EPL, and I’m sick and tired of clubs using anti-football strategies.

Consider the fact that I am an Arsenal supporter and have seen these time-wasting strategies used whenever we are losing to smaller teams.

Players stalling a basic throw in or goalkeepers collapsing like they had a heart attack after catching a simple ball are common sights.

I am happy this madness has ended and everyone will stand and play real football!
