Yesterday, Nigerian singer L.A.X who recently released a new album “Zaza Vibes” acquired a brand new multi million naira mansion in Lagos State. He took to his Instagram page to share a photo of the mansion with a caption, “I DREAMT OF DAYS LIKE THIS AND NOW ITS HAPPENING. I JUST JOINED THE LANLORD ASSOCIATION OF LAGOS”. However, a Writer Obidi by name, in her opinion, reacted negatively to singer LAX news of becoming a landlord in Lagos; claiming that owning a house is not an achievement. She wrote, “How do I tell my people that owing a house is not an achievement”. Well, I agreed with her to an extent. I mean we Nigerians are fond of posting almost everything on social media. Teachers in Esan North-East Local Government Area have issued a 7-day ultimatum to the Acting Education Secretary, local government education authority, Oseghale Mary to reverse the deployment and subsequent demotion of one Ikiakhele Agatha, the head teacher of Efandion primary school in the locality. The teacher said they will not fail to embark on strike if the Acting Education Secretary failed to reverse the deployment and demotion of the head teacher. This was contained in a petition signed by Oriere Duba, NUT chairman of the local government, secretary, Eyonse Martins, and two others and addressed to the state executive of the union and the state chairman of Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Benin City. A drunk policeman identified as Garba Salisu is currently the talk of social media. Passersby who saw a drunk police officer carrying a gun, seized the gun from him then poured water on him to help revive him. In a video shared online, people are seen surrounding the police officers and commenting about the fact that he was inebriated already at that time of the day. A man is seen pouring a sachet of water on the policeman’s head. President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Babagana Zulum have condemned the killing of 53 farmers in Borno State. While appreciating efforts of the military, the governor said: “President Muhammadu Buhari should listen to the calls of our people to end the madness of insurgents. “While we are going back to Maiduguri, by God’s willing, within a few days, we shall re-strategise and ensure the entire areas of Zabarmari/Gongulong are fully secured.” He stated that civilian JTF and hunters were being recruited to tackle insurgency in all nooks and crannies of the state.
