Reports in Italy claim that Chelsea have made a player plus cash offer for Juventus duo Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani with the player in question being mentioned as Alvaro Morata. Higuain is also the subject of a possible swap deal with AC Milan that includes Leonardo Bonucci, who is desirous of a return to Turin after spending one season with Milan. Nigerian soldiers fighting the insurgent Boko Haram sect in Borno state have made a startling revelation about how they are being treated.  Troops of the Nigerian Military deployed to Gubio Local Government in Borno State have accused the government and the chief of Army staff, Tukur Buratai, of abandoning them in the state. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the attempt by some Benue lawmakers to impeach the governor, Samuel Ortom. The party said the move by minority All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in Benue was a plot to scare other top politicians from defecting to the APC like Mr Ortom did. The party made this known in a statement issued after the emergency National Working Committee (NWC) meeting iheld on Monday in Abuja. The PDP blamed the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government for the action. Mr Ortom had defected from the ruling APC last week. He mentioned pressure from his constituents as reason for the action. The Police on Monday arraigned a 30-year-old man, Goddy Inyama, for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl through the anus and vagina. Appearing before an Ajegunle Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, the defendant pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge of unlawful sexual intercourse, unlawful touching of breast and penetrating the anus. Iyama, who resides on Sogbesan Street, Ajegunle, in Apapa area of Lagos was docked before Magistrate O. M. Ajayi. The prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ejembi, told the court that the defendant unlawfully and sexually touched a 10-year-old girl in her vagina on May 6 at 7p.m. “Inyama sexually penetrated the anus, vagina and other parts of the victim’s body”, Vanguard quoted him as saying. “He had sex with the girl through her anus and vagina and also touched her sexually without her consent.” Ejembi said the offences were Punishable Under Sections 263 (1), 261 and 137, of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
