Five Nigerians, have been arrested in India for allegedly peddling drugs in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. The Nigerians Peter Offor alias Baba, Chinedueze alias Remijus Eze, Fidelis Ezeh, Nonso Joachin and Valentine Chinedu, were profiled at the Central Crime Branch of the Karnataka Police. Ketamine/Crystal Meth and other articles valued at Rs 2.50 lakh were seized from the culprits. The articles seized included 6.4 gram Cocaine, Ketamine/Crystal Meth 0.8 gram, 14 mobile phones, 3 Passports, portable Weighing Machine and 3 two wheelers. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, arraigned one suspected Internet fraudster, Folusho Oguntoyinbo, also known as Sydney, before Justice Hakeem Olatunde Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja on a three-count charge bordering on possession of fraudulent documents and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N700, 000(Seven Hundred Thousand Naira). One of the counts reads: "That you, Folusho Oguntoyinbo (a.k.a. Sydney) sometime in 2016 in Lagos within the Ikeja judicial division, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of Seven Hundred Thousand Naira from Roy Torgerson by falsely representing to him that you were Sydney A., female, which representations you knew to be false." The 31-year-old suspected fraudster, however, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him. Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter to July 13, 2017 for hearing of the bail application and ordered the accused to be remanded ...

 An angry mob stormed a hospital after a teenage girl was allegedly raped in an intensive care unit. Rioting protesters clashed with police officers outside the Jagriti Hospital in the city of Kanpur in northern India's Uttar Pradesh state. One police officer was kicked and punched unconscious after he found himself isolated and surrounded by demonstrators. Violence broke out after news spread that a student named Akansha, believed to be 17 or 18 years old, had been raped in the hospital's intensive care unit.  A young woman was attacked on a bus in Istanbul for reportedly wearing a mini shorts during Ramadan . Disturbing CCTV footage captured on board the bus showed how an attacker struck Melisa Sağlam in the face as he passed her while getting off the vehicle. The victim jumped out of her seat to confront the man and threw a slap but the man grabbed her by her hair and shoved her before leaving the bus.  A former Imam who married a teenage girl to a man more than twice her age has been spared jail despite being found guilty. The once revered cleric Ibrahim Omerdic was suspended from his position at Bosnian Islamic Society and Noble Park Mosque in Melbourne, Australia following his arrest. He had presided over the marriage of a 14-year-old girl to a man aged 34, telling her she must obey her new husband. Video footage from the ceremony sees Mr Omerdic say:  "If [your husband] is happy with something, do it. If [your husband] is not happy with something, don't do it." The 62-year-old was arrested after the wedding, which took place in September last year, and pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawfully solemnising the marriage.
