The Lagos State Government has directed all Local Government Officers to comply with the constitutional provisions of the Code of Conduct of Public Officers on Assets declaration. Babatunde Rotinwa, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission said it is mandatory for all Public Officers to declare their assets to the Code of Conduct Bureau. He urged the Council Managers and Human Resources Officers to disseminate the information to other Local Government Staff and ensure that Public Officers in the Unified Local Government Service in the State obtain the Assets Declaration Form, complete it and submit to the Code of Conduct Bureau within the stipulated period. Rotinwa implored the Code of Conduct Bureau to send representatives to the Local Government Areas/ Local Council Development Areas in the State in order to further educate and enlighten the officials on the modalities for completing the forms. This is the shocking moment a brazen couple was caught having sex on a gravestone in broad daylight in a churchyard frequented by children. Dog walker Scott Elwood saw the couple when he was passing through the Holy Trinity Parish Church in Shaw, Greater Manchester. He was so outraged by the disrespectful sight that he decided to film the explicit scenes. Secretary, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chinyeaka Ohaa, has said that the coming into operation of the Abuja Light Rail service would accelerate FCT economy by boosting investments and creating job opportunities. Ohaa gave the assurance on Thursday in Abuja when he led directors and management staff of the Administration on an inspection of the 78km Abuja Light Rail. President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Thursday, said he had forwarded his written defence to the police on the allegation that he had links with armed robbery suspects arrested over the attacks on banks in Offa, Kwara State. Saraki made the announcement on his social media platforms. He wrote, “In line with their request, earlier today the police received my response to their letter on the investigation into the Offa robbery case.” It was learnt from a source in the Senate that the Senate President involved his lawyers in the drafting of the defence. When contacted, Saraki’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Yusuph Olaniyonu, confirmed to our correspondent that the defence had been filed. A 28-year-old suspected fraudster, James Nwagalezi, was yesterday, arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court for allegedly conniving with Okoli Nmesoma, already facing trial, to hack into the mobile app account of Eko Bank Plc and unlawfully withdrew N207 million. Nwagalezi is facing a four-count charge bordering on a felony to wit unlawfully hacking into the bank account and stealing, preferred against him by the Police. Police prosecutor, Inspector Jimoh Joseph, told the court that the defendant and others still at large committed the offense on April 27 at Igboelerin, Okokomaiko, Ojo, Lagos. He said that “Nwagalezi was arrested after several months of the manhunt. His arrest brings the number of suspects arrested and charged to court to six. Police in Sokoto have arrested a 19-year-old Munirat Bagana, an indigene of Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, who allegedly suffocated her newborn baby boy. Munirat, a student of Sokoto State School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, was arrested on Monday after dumping the dead baby in a dust bin. She however denied killing the baby, claiming that she had a still birth and the dead baby was a premature. The Sokoto State police command PPRO, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, who paraded the suspect before newsmen, said she would soon be charged after investigation is concluded. Also paraded was one Nnamdi Nwafor, 32, who specialises in stealing vehicles at churches. A man has raised an alarm after falling victim to the scam of a fake Customs official on Facebook. It was revealed that a particular lady, who goes by the name Ademola Victoria on Facebook, with a profile picture which depicts her as a customs woman, has been discovered to be nothing but an Internet fraudster. The fake account holder has been sending friend requests to people, and whoever falls into that carefully arranged scam by confirming her as a friend is liable to automatically become a prospective victim. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) yesterday said it discovered the lifeless body of a pregnant woman along Gbongan-Ibadan expressway, Owode-Ede, Ede, Osun. The corps Spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, said the lifeless body was discovered at about 7.30 a.m. during routine surveillance by officers and men. Afolabi said officers on surveillance saw the corpse of the pregnant woman along Gbongan-Ibadan express way, beside a petrol station in Owode-Ede. The spokesperson told journalists in Oshogbo, “the identity of the woman is unknown, the cause of her death also unknown but all parts of her body are intact. “However, we discovered that her face was swollen, with blood stains all over her face and we also discovered some bruises on her legs.” He said the divisional officer of the NSCDC at Owode-Ede had alerted health workers and the Divisional Police Officer of Ede North about the woman. Premier League clubs will have a winter break in February from the 2019-20 season. The break will be staggered across two weeks, with five matches on the first weekend and five the following weekend. The FA Cup fifth round will be moved to midweek to accommodate the break, with replays being scrapped at that stage. West Ham’s Argentina midfielder Manuel Lanzini will miss the World Cup after suffering a ruptured anterior knee ligament injury in training.
