According to a Vanguard report, the recently published report by Steve Hanke, an economist from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, United state, listed Nigeria, Venezuela, Iran, Brazil, others among the first ten (10) miserable countries in the world.  According to the report Venezuela was listed as the most miserable country in the world. Reacting to this Hanke said, “Venezuela holds the inglorious title of the most miserable country in the world in 2018, as it did in 2017, 2016, and 2015.” However, Argentina jumped to the No. 2 spot after yet another peso crisis. Since its founding, Argentina has been burdened with numerous economic crises. Most can be laid at the feet of domestic mismanagement and currency problems (read: currency collapses). Alarmed Nigerian soldiers were forced to abandon their mission to hijack ballot boxes during the March 9 Governorship/House of Assembly elections when a leader of the protesting women of Ogu/Bolo communities in Rivers State, out of desperation, sprinkled blood from her drenched menstrual pad on military patrol vehicles and by some mystical interference, the engines refused to kick. The protesting women leader and Vice Chair, Ogu/Bolo local government area, Barrister Christiana Tamunoberetonari, confirmed she took off her heavily- soaked menstrual pad, squeezed the blood all over Army patrol vehicles and the drivers could not start the vehicles. A young man was left for dead after being attacked by suspected cultists in Delta state. According to reports, the victim was attacked by the hoodlums who shot him and also butchered him with machete at the main gate of Delta State Polytechnic in Oghara-Otefe. He was left in the pool of his blood after the brutal attack before he was rushed to the hospital by sympathizers. His current condition is unknown as at the time of filing this report. An Offa Poly student identified as Ridwan Ajiboye, reportedly committed suicide after he was embarrassed by one of his lecturers over money from handout he was asked to sell to his course mates. The Offa Poly student who committed suicide is said to be a ND 1 student of the Civil Engineering Department, and also the son of a traditional title holder in Iragbiji in the Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State. The deceased drank some quantity of an insecticide and according to sources, his parents said they were not interested in investigating the circumstances that surrounded his death. A man has been nabbed after it was found out that he hacked his own brother to death in Niger state. Sunday Punch reports that the Niger State Police Command has apprehended a 45-year-old ldris Aliyu of Daka’agi village in the Wushishi Local Government Area of the state for allegedly hacking his younger brother, Aliyu Aliyu, to death. The suspect was arrested by a team of policemen attached to Wushishi Division following a tip-off. It was learnt that the suspect and his deceased brother, who were farmers, had been living together in the same compound in peace other before the ugly incident. Sunday Punch gathered that the suspect borrowed the sum of N100,000 from his friend and gave it to his late brother to renovate his house in the same area. He was said to have promised to pay back the lender after harvesting their farm products. Students of Alvan Ikoku College of Education in Owerri, Imo state, have been thrown into mourning after one of their own passed away following an attack by armed robbers. The deceased identified as Alex Jude, a final year student of the institution – was shot by gun-weilding armed robbers on Monday, March 25th. It was gathered that victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Owerri, where he reportedly had a sucessful operation. Everyday should have be a mother’s day because we should always celebrate and appreciate our mothers each and everyday. It not easy to carry pregnancy for the whole nine month, back you and breastfeed you for 3 years, including time of sickness, time of no food and she will sacrifice her own for you.
