10 More TV Shows You Should Make Time To Watch This Year

 

A lot of television shows have made their way to our screens this year and they have provided much entertainment that has kept us glued to our TV sets. Some of these shows range from action, dramas to science fiction themes including new TV shows making their debut to the ones making their way back for another season. Here are ten more television shows that will be making their way to the screens that you definitely don’t want to miss.

Riverdale

The first season of Riverdale was ordered to series in May 2016, and had 13 episodes that premiered in January and concluded in m of 2017. The American teen drama television series based on the characters by Archie Comics with Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, his next door neighbor who also happens to be crushing on him, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, his new love interest and Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, his ex-best friend and the narrator of the show. The show follows the adventures of Archie, a conflicted high school teenager who tries to balance his passion for writing and performing music, alongside the interest of several girls. The second season of the show is expected to premier in October of this year.

The Magicians’

The magicians TV series
This fantasy TV show is based on a novel of the same name written by Lev Grossman and stars Jason Ralph as Quentin Coldwater, a student who enrolls at Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy to be trained as a magician, where he discovers that the magical world from his favourite childhood books is real and poses a danger to humanity. Th second season was released in the first quarter of 2017 and the third season is expected to premier in early 2018.

Frontier

Frontier TV series
This historical drama chronicles the American fur trade of the 1700s and stars Jason Momoa as Declan Harp, an outlaw who is campaigning to breach the Hudson’s Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade in Canada. Th show was renewed for a second season that is expected to premier later this year.

Baskets

Baskets TV series
This black comedy series follows the story of Chip and Dale Baskets (both portrayed by Zach Galifianakis), an eccentric wannabe clown, his peculiar mother Christine Baskets (portrayed by Emmy-winner Louie Anderson) and a number of other oddballs in their orbit. The third season of the show is expected to return in the last quarter of 2017.

The Young Pope’

Jude Law stars as Pope Pius Pius XIII (born Lenny Belardo), the newly elected Pope and former Archbishop of New York alongside Diane Keaton who reprises the role of Sister Mary, an American nun, who raised Belardo and Andrew Dussolier (Scott Shepherd) in an orphanage, has helped Lenny throughout his career, and is appointed personal secretary to the Pope. This speculative drama of Vatican politics, was renewed for a second season which will be titled “The New Pope”, expected to premier in late 2017.

Homeland

Homeland TV series
The sixth season of Homeland debuted on January 15, 2017. The series has also been renewed for a seventh and eighth season; with the eighth planned to be the series’ final season by the creators. Season 6 follows Carrie (Claire Danes) in Brooklyn, where she is working as an advocate for Muslim-Americans, while Saul (Mandy Patinkin) remains with the CIA.

Victoria

The second season of this British dram television series is expected to air in December of 2017. Victoria stars Jenna Coleman as the young queen of 19th century England and follows are struggles with love, infatuation, marriage and managing the politics of that era.

Colony

Colony TV series
Colony is an American science-fiction drama series that stars Josh Holloway a Will Broman and Sarah Wayne Callies as his wife Katie, who fight to keep their family together in the city of Los Angeles which is controlled by alien overlords. Will works for them while Katie is part of the resistance to the occupation.

Taboo

Taboo
Tom Hardy stars as James Delaney, a 19th century adventurer who returns to England after twelve years in Africa with fourteen stolen diamonds, following the death of his father and as the war with the United States is nearing its end. He returns to discover that his years away in Africa is far less dangerous than his return to Britain, where enemies threaten his family empire. The second season of the show is expected to premier later in the year.

Crashing

Crashing
This comedy show is a semi-autobiographical show which revolves around Pete Holmes’ character Pete, a young comedian who pursues a career in stand-up comedy after his wife cheats on him, leaving him homeless. Judd Apatow produces, with Pete Holmes, pictured, as a suburban dude switching gears to try stand-up comedy. The series was renewed for a second season that should be aired in early 2018.
