A husband, Christopher, beat his 39-year-old wife, Isoken, to death over N2,000 in Benin, the Edo capital. The incident occurred Saturday night at No.1, Agbontaen street, beside Ebvareke Secondary School in Uselu, NAN reports. The eldest child, Augustine Christopher, 13, said the father, a worker with a waste manager in Benin, usually beat his mother. He recalled that earlier in the day, Christopher, 45, called the deceased on phone and requested N2,000. The son said the father returned home at about 9 pm and attacked Isoken, accusing her of embarrassing him each time he requested for money. Former Zamfara State Commissioner for Development and Cooperatives Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Tsafe has recounted his ordeal in hands of some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for calling on the State governor Bello Matawalle to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Tsafe said he was bashed by PDP members in Zamfara State when he saw the need for the governor to join APC and called on him to do so. Unknown gunmen have attacked Alhaji Bayo Fulani of Ga- Fulani, Ora-Igbomina area of Ifedayo in Osun State and abducted his daughter in the process. NAIJALOADED gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday night when the assailants invaded the resident. It was gathered that the gunmen targeted killing Alhaji Bayo but bullets allegedly could not penetrate his body. Findings revealed that the assailants armed with guns, having discovered that the father had escaped their assault, resorted to dealing with the girl before they eventually took her away. Deji Adeyanju, popular human rights activist, has disclosed that some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are considering fielding former President Goodluck Jonathan as their 2023 presidential candidate. Adeyanju, convener of Concerned Nigerians, made the claim in a tweet, while stressing that PDP currently has no leader. Adeyanju said that former PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar who resides mostly in Dubai, has abandoned the party. Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has reiterated his commitment and readiness to lead a protest in Lagos on 3rd of July. Recall that the All Progressives Congress, APC, UK Chapter, earlier urged Igboho, to shun the planned Lagos rally slated to take place on July 3. In a statement on Tuesday, the Chairman of APC UK, Dr Phillip Idaewor, urged the Yoruba activist to pipe low and shun any planned protest. Idaewor stated that there were other ways for the group to channel their agitations. He also stated that the rally should be suspended to avoid being hijacked by hoodlums to unleash terror on Lagos residents. The Imo State Police Command has arrested and paraded three suspected kidnappers at the command headquarters, Owerri, the state capital. NAIJALOADED gathered that one of the suspects, Eze Kelvin, hails from Uga in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State but resident in Orji area of Owerri. According to the state police report, the anti-kidnapping unit of the state command apprehended the 30-year-old. The suspect confessed to belong to a kidnapping syndicate that has been terrorizing the state and its environs. The police also disclosed that the suspect was an escapee of the recent jailbreak in the state.
